Bills-Jets game expected to move

The Bills' home game against the Jets is not expected to be played Sunday, sources tell ESPN.

The Bills "will be hard-pressed to get their stadium ready for their next home game," a source told ESPN. That next home game is Nov. 30, against the Browns.

The question now is when and where Sunday's game will be played. The NFL will conduct a conference call with Bills and Jets officials Thursday afternoon to figure it out.

Possible locations, according to sources, include Detroit, Pittsburgh and Washington. The Lions and Redskins are on the road this weekend; the Steelers have a bye.

Gosh, you think folks would have lined up with that offer of free tickets and $10 an hour to shovel snow ...

the only possible way to shovel it out would be to use heavy machinery, all of which is in use trying to dig out roads.

If neither team will make the playoffs, cancel it. If the outcome matters, play it after the end of the season.

The NFL has had a few games move to different days or sites, but it is rare. The Philadelphia Eagles played a 2010 home game against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16 on a Tuesday night because of snow. Two weeks earlier, the Vikings played a "home" game against the New York Giants in Detroit after the Metrodome's roof collapsed following a snow storm. The New Orleans Saints' home games in 2005 were moved from the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina damaged it. In 2003, the San Diego Chargers played a Monday night game at Arizona State University due to wildfires in San Diego. A 2008 game in Houston between the Ravens and Texans, slated for mid-September, was rescheduled for Nov. 9 that year because of a hurricane.

I think instead of moving the game to Detroit and essentially robbing the Bills of a home game, the NFL could've moved the game further down the week (or perhaps to another week) when the weather is less harsh.

Due to wildfires near their stadium.

Tickets were free so I attended. It was technically a Chargers home game so they'd have Chargers on the video boards & speakers would blast "LT LT" whenever he made a big play.

They might as well put some kids in the stands, because they aren't going to draw many Jets or Bills fans in Detroit.

do have residents shovel like that - but I don't think even Green Bay gets as much snow as Buffalo! It seems like moving it makes sense given the strength of this storm.
