(29,322 posts)especially in the conference championship game era - 12-0 team could lose the conference championship to a team with fewer conference losses. Big 12 single table (former) head-to-head is a different story but according to the new rules TCU did win its conference.
But whether they won it or not is irrelevant to the biases of the selection committee it isn't exactly helpful as a suggestion.

(7,429 posts)Baylor won their conference. In fact they beat TCU, so they should have more to complain about than TCU

(29,322 posts)collectively better overall (Baylor has an explosive high scoring offense but TCU has a pretty good one themselves) & at the end of the day you'll find little disagreement that TCU is the #2 team in the nation right now.
Oregon, Ohio State players agree TCU snubbed from playoff
The majority of Oregon and Ohio State players agree: If there was another team that deserved to be in the inaugural College Football Playoff, it would have been TCU.
Of the more than 25 players polled during Saturdays CFP Championship Game media day, all but five named TCU as the best of the rest despite their No. 6 seeding by the playoff committee.
In order to get more candid responses, the players names were not included in the surveys.
Their defense and their offense theyre both pretty good, one player said. And I felt like they kind of got jipped out of it.

Not saying I agree because college football fans have a different way of judging teams than I do--statistically wise Florida State wasn't close to being one of the 4 best teams in the country and I would be temped to snub them if I was in charge but you would be hearing the screaming right now from 13-0 FSU.

(22,340 posts)I mean then TCU and Baylor should have been in the semi-final, which I guess means Alabama and Florida State should have been out. Explain that decision.

(42,998 posts)That TCU is the only team in modern history to get a raw deal in the national championship games. Nope only TCU , otherwise completely fair.

(6,279 posts)Under BCS, the #3 and maybe #4 teams got to gripe about how they got screwed. With the 4-team playoff, we now get #5, #6 and potentially all the way down to #8 with a beef about the inherent unfairness of the system.
I can't wait for the 8-team playoff with the #9-16 teams grousing...
