City of Seattle plans post-Super Bowl celebration

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2015/2/2/7964719/city-seattle-seahawks-plans-post-super-bowl-2015-celebration

The Seattle Seahawks won't be planning a championship parade this year. However, the city of Seattle does intend to celebrate the team's run to the Super Bowl.

According to MyNorthwest.com, Mayor Ed Murray wants to coordinate a celebration. The mayor's office plans to wait to "follow the Seahawks' lead," which could mean any festivities could take time while the players and coaching staff deal with their heartbreaking Super Bowl loss....

"The Seahawks are a class act," the mayor said in a statement. "While (Sunday's) outcome was heartbreaking, the team played with tremendous heart and guts to the very end. They never quit. Even when others were ready to count them out, whether early in the season or during their playoff run, the Hawks and the 12s always believed. All of Seattle is proud of everything they accomplished this year and I know we'll be back next year."

The city also plans to limit fan interaction with the team during the trip home from Arizona. The Seahawks are set to arrive at Sea-Tac Airport at 3:30 p.m. local time, at which point there will be no access permitted to fans looking to welcome them home. Likewise, the team buses will avoid 188th Street, the same street the Seahawks paraded down in front of an estimated 700,000 fans after their win in Super Bowl XLVIII.

What's their civic motto? "It's like Buffalo, only warmer"?

One would hope this would be about as much fun as a Teabagger rally.
