Dez Bryants entire NFL career could be in jeopardy if the video he allegedly appears in is as bad as it sounds.
The clip of Bryant doing something Ray Rice-worthy that has reportedly stalled his contract negations with the Dallas Cowboys, is set for an imminent release.
Thats according to Terez Owens, who are claiming that a source has informed them the incriminating video of Dallas Cowboys superstar receiver Dez Bryant is being released today or tomorrow.
They say the video is so bad its five times worse than the Ray Rice video and that his football career is in jeopardy.

(112,453 posts)it is going to make Jerry Jones appear to be a genius for waiting to sign contracts. Of course we know that Jerry Jones isn't a genius though.

From Scott Bischoff of the Pro Football Writers of America (via multiple tweets):
I have not seen it, but I have heard about the video (and) all the details about what's on it...
Bryant changed agents in November to Roc Nation...Jerry Jones reaction to Dez switching agents: not happy at all...(I)t was insinuated that the old agency was paying blackmail $$ to keep the video...away from the public eye...
(T)he Cowboys know its coming out, leading to a deal with Dez totally in limbo...Was told that the video is real, we shall see.
Speaking of tweets, Bryant posted this one --but it was quickly deleted:
And isn't Roc Nation part of rap mogul Jay-Z's empire?
Roc Nation Sports' first major move was signing New York Yankees All-Star second baseman Robinson Canó. They have also signed New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz and WNBA prospect Skylar Diggins...In May 2013, New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith joined the agency...
Jay-Z was officially certified as a sports agent for the National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball...Roc Nation Sports added the NBA Oklahoma City Thunder's superstar Kevin Durant...On February 24, 2014 wide receiver Hakeem Nicks of the Indianapolis Colts joined...On May 1, 2014 Roc Nation Sports added James Young of the Kentucky Wildcats, predicted to go during the first round of the 2014 NBA draft...Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown left the firm after just two months... In November 2014, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant would also join the company...
Well, if the video doesn't surface, and Dez gets his deal, I guess we can presume that Roc Nation Sports was the highest bidder!

Whatever, Dez had a really rough childhood. And even though he is dumb as shit, I think he's put his life in order.

According to Rant Sports:
(T)he group in possession of the video is apparently looking for a pay day, as theyve sent screenshots of the video to many major media outlets in hopes that someone would buy the video...
Whats more, the video allegedly shows Bryant clocking a woman in a Wal-Mart. Even if the team does know about the situation and the video, the footage being released to the general public would cause an uproar.
This Sun Times story says it happened in a Wal-Mart parking lot in 2011. Which I'm willing to be believe: had it happened in the store, I can't imagine even Wal-Mart keeping this a secret. On the other hand, what would Dez Bryant be doing IN a Wal-Mart? All we can do is stay tuned...

When a police officer responded, a Wal-Mart security guard explained that he arrived at the scene with the door to the Mercedes still open and a childs toy on the ground, but that no one was present. Then, two men pulled up in an Escalade registered to Dez Bryant. The two men, Carl King and Christopher Mitchell, said they received a call from the alleged victim, asking them to pick up her Mercedes.
Then, a Bentley arrived in the parking lot, with the alleged victim and Dez Bryant inside. The alleged victim claimed that she had an argument with a man named Alex Penson, that she was not assaulted or injured in any way, and that it was just an argument with Penson. The alleged victim claimed she was dropped off at a friends house, and that she contacted Bryant to pick her up. The responding officer determined after talking to all parties that there was no offense, and that everyone was free to go...
The report doesnt mention the availability of Wal-Mart surveillance video, or the contents of it. Instead, it appears that the responding officer accepted the version(s) supplied by King, Mitchell, Bryant, and the alleged victim, and closed the case...
The date of the letter (presumably this year) suggests that the NFL knew nothing of the incident. And "just" arguments do not get physical: Was Penson the "friend" who dropped her off? Does the video, if any, show someone other than Bryant having an altercation with a woman? Could this all be "just" a case of mistaken identity, or did the victim fabricate the story to protect Bryant?
It all depends on whether or not the video (if it exists) contradicts the police report, or directly implicates/incriminates Bryant.

The report, from July 11, 2011, shows someone went to Wal-Mart security and said they witnessed a black man drag a woman out of a car around 6 AM. The victim is listed as Ilyne Nash -- Dez Bryant's long-time girlfriend and mother of two of his children.
...(C)ops (reported they) interviewed several people at the scene, including Bryant, but determined no crime had been committed...Nash did say she got into an argument with...a guy named Alex Penson, but was adamant she was not assaulted or injured in any way. The report does not make note of any visible injuries to Nash.
Nash says after the argument, she went to a friend's house and contacted Dez to pick her up...that's why they were ultimately together when they returned to the Wal-Mart.
Are Wal-Marts normally open at 6AM? (Gets of shiftless lazy ass and does her own research) The one question is currently open 24 hours. Did Nash's argument with Penson begin before or after she was forced out of her car? How did Nash go from being forced into Penson's car to calling Dez from another friend's house -- did Pension drop her off rather than take her back to the parking lot? Was Penson acting on Dez's orders?
Now that people have been named, the media will no doubt be piling on them as if -- well, as if it's fourth and inches at the Super Bowl. Let's see where it goes from here...

(56,177 posts)If the video does exist and it is that awful, it's really appalling that it was apparently more important to cover this up rather than make Dez be responsible for his actions...nice to know nothing has changed in the NFL.

or (what I believe) Dez has taken himself off the hook by purchasing it (with the help of his new agent Jay-Z).
In the meantime, I'll just add Dez Bryant to my "Next Aaron Hernandez Award" list.
