It was on kind of late for me but happy to see the score this morning:
Andreas Seppi (ITA) 3 4
Roger Federer (SUI) 6 6
Winner: R. FEDERER 01:22:00
No messing around. In it to win it.

(7,394 posts)Just got back from the States, and still kinda jet-lagged---
It was worth staying up for!
TBF
(32,064 posts)very quick with the wins. It's about to get harder though with the remaining 8 suspects in the semi-final.

(56,177 posts)I hope Rafroid gets Tomas...he's had trouble with him as of late.
TBF
(32,064 posts)I was even worried about Seppi but he put him away quickly. We'll see how it goes.
Oh well...we shall see.

(56,177 posts)Should be interesting against Milos...all he really has is his serve, but it can be enough on hard surfaces.

(56,177 posts)Milos beats Rafroid in a tight three-setter.
I see the Canadian Cheater will be playing Roger after 11 am (must be western time). I will have to try to see that!

(56,177 posts)I hope both are afternoon matches and not late.

(56,177 posts)Djoker crushed the Limey Bastard...closer for Roger beating Raonic, 7-5 6-4. Raonic may win a slam some day if he gets on a tear, but he'll never be great with his limited game.
TBF
(32,064 posts)I am so proud of him for winning that tie break.
One more set.
joeybee12
(56,177 posts)in the second...saw this morning he came back...at least it was a good match...Roger needs to start quick when he plays Djoker and that didnt happen today...oh well...
TBF
(32,064 posts)although 3rd set was not worth watching. He seems chipper and ready to get back to Europe. It was a good tournament for him overall.
joeybee12
(56,177 posts)It'll be tough if Djoker makes it through, but barring any letdown, I can't see anyone else challenging Roger for the title.
TBF
(32,064 posts)his schedule only goes to Wimbledon
It would be amazing for him to have 18 before he retires.

(56,177 posts)And knows that his goals...at 33...and much more limited.

(56,177 posts)STORRS, Conn. -- UConn coach Geno Auriemma was in a reflective mood on his 61st birthday after the Huskies earned their 22nd consecutive trip to the NCAA regional semifinals.
Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis scored 23 points to lead his top-ranked UConn team to a 91-55 rout of Rutgers on Monday night. Moriah Jefferson added 19 points, and Morgan Tuck had 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for the Huskies (34-1), who won their 33rd consecutive game and 79th in 80 tries.
UConn, which is trying to win its 10th national championship and third in a row, is now 99-17 all-time in the NCAA tournament.
Auriemma said that despite how his teams have made it look, getting this far in the tournament every year is not easy.

(72,790 posts)It's far too easy for the UConn women. Little competition. Not UConn's fault, but women's basketball is terrible.

(56,177 posts)Past couple years though, no one is even close to them...

(72,790 posts)Now UConn has taken the Vols' place.

(56,177 posts)I think right now the only way someone else wins it all is if UCONN has a down year...there are more teams at the second tier, but still UCONN is alone at the top.
