Broncos executive denies report of failed Peyton Manning trade to Texans

Shortly after Tuesday night’s shocking report by Denver radio host Benjamin Allbright that the Broncos attempted to trade quarterback Peyton Manning to the Texans, people from both teams stepped in to quash the rumor.

Patrick Smyth, the Broncos’ Vice President of Public Relations, tweeted a rather straightforward denial that any deal was explored:

As for the Texans, three people with the team and who are familiar with trade discussions told the Houston Chronicle on Tuesday night the report isn’t true.

Allbright, who lists “host on 94.1 FM Denver/96.9 FM Boulder” in his Twitter bio, sent out the following tweets:

Peyton will retire before he accepts a trade.

But I don't think he'll last the season. Trumad would agree with me if he hadn't been sent to the holding cell.

i think he got hurt middle of last season and they kept their mouths shut. they should have sat peyton out after they got into the playoffs and let osweiler get some starts.

i don't think he'll last the season, either, and then denver will be up the creek.
