Related: About this forumReport: Tom Brady Will Sue If The NFL Doesn't Throw Out His Suspension
http://deadspin.com/report-tom-brady-will-sue-if-the-nfl-doesnt-throw-out-1717953991There are rumblings that a decision on Tom Bradys appeal of his four-game Ballghazi suspension will be coming down very soon. But the union is already making a ton of noise: according to reports from ESPN and NFL.com, citing NFLPA sources, Brady and the union are already prepping a challenge in federal court if Bradys suspension isnt completely overturned....
This could very well be an intimidation tacticRoger Goodell is the one deciding Bradys final suspension, and the commissioner has to decide if suspending Brady for, say, one or two games is worth being taken to court by his leagues cover boy.
But the threat is real. The NFLPA has had a string of successes in challenging the NFLs discipline, both in court and before truly neutral arbitrators. Its proved a useful way to chip away at Goodells absolute authority without altering the CBA, and the union hopes the constant series of challenges will temper future rulings. Going to war over a superstar like Brady would provide a strong precedent.
Cynically, going to court also makes good football sense for Brady and the Patriots. Brady would be able to play until his lawsuit is thrown out or ruled upon. It took three years for the Vikings Pat and Kevin Williamss StarCaps case to wind its way through the courts, though it was eventually won by the NFL. Tom Brady is 37 years old; if he could put off his suspension for three seasons, that would be a victory.

Play with a football with a little less air. Get four games.
Somehow that makes sense to you?

(34,825 posts)3. So no repercussions for Tom because the league fucked up the Ray Rice incident?

(65,076 posts)6. Do We Have Proof Ray Rice Punched His Wife?
Yes. Show me the proof. Don't show me innuendo or assumptions. We KNOW Ray Rice did what he did. We saw it happen on video.
When i see the video of someone deflating the balls and hard evidence that Brady was involved (both ifs), then i'll reconsider.
On Edit: Turning your question around. So, Brady needs to be handled harshly because the NFL fucked up the Rice situation?
frylock
(34,825 posts)7. No, Brady needs to be handled harshly because he fucking cheated..
nobody outside of the greater New England area buys for a second that The Deflator was in reference to weight loss.
