Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell has been diagnosed with lymphoma and is stepping away from the team immediately.

He'll begin chemotherapy treatment next week at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo will manage the team in Farrell's absence for the rest of the season.
