Eli Manning says he was wrong to tell Rashad Jennings to not scoreThe New York Giants put on a clinic in how to blow a game through poor clock management on Sunday.
There are many, many things that went wrong, but the weirdest was probably Eli Manning telling running back Rashad Jennings to not score when the Giants were inside Dallas' 10-yard line late in the game. And he didn't do it once, but twice.
[Yahoo Fantasy Football: Still not too late to sign up for a league]
Jennings said he was told in the huddle on first and goal from the 4-yard line to not score, and he didn't. Then, Manning said Monday, he went to the sidelines and talked it over with the coaches. And again on second down, this time from the 2-yard line, Jennings said he was told to not score. And he didn't.
That strategy is smart sometimes, but not when a team is up by a field goal and another touchdown basically puts the game away. The Giants were leading 23-20 with just under two minutes remaining.
