Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that he had "50 concussions" while playing football at Arkansas, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
Jones was a guest on Costas Tonight on the NBC Sports Network and was responding to a segment that aired before his, in which former Patriots defensive back Rodney Harrison explained the difficulties and dangers of playing football in the NFL . Jones joked that if he hadn't suffered those many head collisions, he would have been the President of the United States instead of owner of the Dallas Cowboys.
Jones explained that he wasn't trying to make light of a serious issue that has the NFL involved in a lawsuit presented by former players, including former Cowboys running back Tony Dorsett.

What---10 games a year---so let's say he got a concussion a game.. that's 40.
Oh sure---you can include practice... but come on----

(45,984 posts)I'm just happy to see him as owner of the Cowboys rather than President of the United States. Fucking up a pro football team is nothing of great moment. Some other Texan already usurped the presidency and did a number on our country.

I pity any Cowboy fan out there - you will never contend for the playoffs again until you dump that chump. Trust me, as a New Yorker, I know all about bone-headed sports owners - like the NBA NY Knicks' James "Guitar Jimmy" Dolan.
