Bears Release Forte

His contract is up and with all the things they need on defense, they can't afford to keep him. He offered a home town discount, but they told him sorry, but as much as they wished they could keep him, they just can't.

Class guy and a real pro's pro. He'll land on his feet somewhere.

They're talking New England, Tampa and Dallas on sports radio in Chicago.

I'd like to see him in New England, but the Pats don't seem to spend that kind of money hughee99 Feb 2016 #1

at RB. I'm sure they'd be happy to take him at a big discount on a 1 year "prove it" deal, but I'm not sure why Forte would do that unless NFL GMs have serious concerns about his durability.

So, he might deeply discount. He had a good contract here, but i'm told he lives pretty modestly for a guy making millions per year.

I don't think durability is much of an issue. He's only been significantly hurt once. Pretty good for a 30 year old running back.
