As a handicapper I'd throw Mohaymen's race out the window. Just didn't have it yesterday which is to bad.

With that said--- Nyquist is a beast. I just went back to review all his races and I think he may have been smacked with the whip maybe once--in all races.

I love horses with different gears. Horses that say---nah---you ain't gonna get by me---or Horses that chill and then turn on the flamers.

Nyquist is both--plus he's hand-ridden which I absolutely love.

So---no doubt he is my clear favorite and will most likely float around 2/1 of even money on race day.

So if I'm gonna make any money on May 7th I got to find a closer. My strategy the last couple of years is--Favorite---Closer---rest of the field--- buck trifecta. The hope is the closer has long odds. About a 32 dollar bet for the 1 dollar tri. I do it a couple of times with a couple of different place finishers for a total of around one hundred bucks.

BTW: For kicks here is Nyquist's 2105 Juvenile Breeders Cup race. A couple of clues in this one. One---large field---No problem. Two: Off the pack close---No problem. Again---looks like a hand ride as well.

I have a couple of questions about him after yesterday, though. He ducked out wide in the stretch when Mario looked back to his right and he was running on his wrong lead at the end. He just looked green. Could be the noise from the crowd. No matter, he is the most talented 3yo colt in the country. And, yeah, throw Mohaymen's race out. He's more talented than he showed yesterday.

Still a couple of races left to look for your closer. SA Derby, AK Derby and the Wood. Best of luck with the handicapping, tru!

Wow. He's a powerhouse.

I'm watching Exaggerator, too. Nyquist has beaten him every time, but I think I just see some potential there.

It's going to be exciting for the next few weeks!

....and pick up enough points to get in the Derby, you might want to lookout for him. He's finished 2nd to Nyquist 4 times and has gotten closer as the races stretch out in distance. He's by Birdstone out of a Grand Slam mare. He should be able to run all day.
