....and as you stated, I too am grateful that his time here coincided with my time. He was a giant and his life was well lived.

I was at a Mike Tyson fight in January 1999. The moment Muhammad Ali walked into the room, the swell from the crowd cheering "ALI, ALI, ALI" was just incredible. We were standing and cheering for a good 10 minutes before you could see him tip his hand to all of us as an acknowledgement of what had happened.
It really is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I will remember that night for the rest of my life.
