To appreciate the significance of Cleveland's sweep over the Red Sox ...

consider that they did it with their starting #2 pitcher and starting #3 pitcher on the DL (plus having a starting catcher fresh off the DL with limited game rehab). Takes a deep starting staff and bullpen to shut down Ortiz, Pedroia, Ramirez, Bogaerts, etc.

That same staff swept K.C. at season's end to win home field advantage over the Sox too.

#3 starting pitcher Danny Salazar, recovering from forearm tightness, might be available to pitch out of the bullpen versus the Blue Jays.

I agree. Cleveland played well, Tito did a fine job, and they deserved the win. hughee99 Oct 2016 #2

And I hope the Indians or the Cubs win the WS this year.

Tito was superb in his coaching and I am sure he really enjoyed getting the sweep in Fenway. Oh well, I think I've never enjoyed such an exciting group of RS players since Lynn, Rice, and Evans were patrolling the outfield in Fenway. Already looking forward to next year!

The Red Sox have a good young team, and I'm excited about next year as well.
