Former Cowboys LB Anthony McClanahan arrested for murder

McClanahan had history of domestic violence; blamed injuries sustained while playing football for behavior.

Steven Taranto - 4 hours ago

Former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Anthony McClanahan has been arrested under suspicion of stabbing his wife to death on Thursday morning.

According to a report by The Salt Lake Tribune, Park City, Utah police say that 28-year old Keri "KC" McClanahan was found dead in a condominium Thursday with multiple stab wounds to her throat. According to Mrs. McClanahan's family, there had been a history of domestic violence between the couple, with Keri fleeing from Anthony multiple times since their marriage in January. According to Mrs. McClanahan's family, her spouse had blamed his violent behavior on injuries he sustained while playing football.

In addition to his history of domestic violence, McClanahan also was charged Friday with kidnapping one of his children from a previous relationship. McClanahan had joined the Dallas Cowboys in the 1994 preseason after playing college football at Washington State, but was cut before the regular season.
