ASU basketball takes its 'buzz' on the road to face St. John's, Kansas

Want to measure something in sports? There’s a number out there that can help. Rankings, efficiency ratings, percentage indexes, it’s all there to help fans get a good grasp of where their team dribbles in the college basketball universe.

That’s a little more difficult to assess.

First off, let’s define buzz. The dictionary definition – “a low continuous humming" or "to move quickly or busily” – doesn’t really apply to sports. In the athletics arena, “buzz” means excitement. And in most cases, it means that excitement arrived somewhat unexpectedly.

This applies to Arizona State basketball, off to its best start in decades. Entering Thursday, the Sun Devils (7-0) were one of nine remaining unbeaten teams and ranked nationally (No. 16 in Associated Press Top 25, No. 17 in USA TODAY coaches poll). On Friday they meet St. John’s in the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic at Staples Center in Los Angeles. From there, they will fly to the Midwest for Sunday’s contest at No. 2 Kansas, a trip that will put them on the national stage.

This caught my attention last night I guess Arizona State if they don't lose to St. John's will the only team undefeated enter Sunday's matchup.
