Chepkoech destroys women's steeplechase world record by 8 seconds

Previously she was best known for missing the first water jump in last year's world championships, allowing Emma Coburn to win. Monaco is the feature track and field meet of this season, with a fast track and stacked fields. The meet was highly anticipated and lived up to it, but nothing was close to this performance. Highlight package first followed by full race, albeit in Spanish.

American Courtney Frerichs followed up her silver in last year's world championships to finish second again, setting an American record while narrowly failing to break 9 minutes:
