Way to go NFL. Fox cuts off overtime game due to "NFL Rules"

Last edited Mon Oct 22, 2018, 01:06 AM - Edit history (2)

So I see that Cleveland is in yet another overtime game. Tied with Tampa Bay 23-23.
This is Cleveland 4th overtime game in 7 games this season.

I see if it's on our Fox channel. It is!

So I'm a Browns fans but who doesn't like to watch the drama of an overtime game?

With about 8 Minutes left in OT there's a time-out or TV time-out. Curt Menefee comes on says "We'd like to show you the end of this game. This is the 7th overtime game this season so due to NFL rules we will not be able to show the rest of this game. Fox NFL Sunday Postgame will follow these commercial messages".

SERIOUSLY? There's too much ede of your seat moments for your product NFL?

Tampa Bay kicked a 59 yard field goal to win 26-23.

one of those times where Reddit streaming is a sanity-saver. You don't have to worry about any of that when watching a game through their streams, though occasionally they do lag:

I was watching the Pats Bears game and switched over to see if the Browns were on*

*that wasn't meant as a joke. The Browns are never "ON".

In market games, I’d expect people to be losing their friggin mind.

We went to a pub restaurant a few weeks ago that was a Browns watching location. I'd guess they have a satellite package.

Back in the 90's there was a game between the St. Louis Rams and someone in the last week that was basically a playoff game. The winner went to the playoffs and the loser was done. So the local CBS station said they'd show that game not the Redskins - Arizona game. A real nothing game - both teams were horrible. All hell broke loose here in Richmond. They demanded they get their Skins game. The local station relented and showed the Skins game. I just shook my head.

When the ABC (liquor) stores started opening on Sunday here they opened at 1pm. Then it was moved to noon. I'd be surprised if the Skins game coming on AT 1 didn't have something to do with that. Seriously it's that crazed.
