Related: About this forumRyan Braun hears it from Giants fans...
Ryan Braun struck out in his only two at-bats in the Milwaukee Brewers' 1-all tie with a split squad of the San Francisco Giants on Sunday in the reigning NL MVP's first game since getting caught up in a drug case during the offseason.
Although the game was at Milwaukee's Maryvale Baseball Park, about half the crowd of 6,619 cheered for the Giants and they countered the Brewers' fans standing ovation with catcalls when Braun went to the plate in the first inning.
They serenaded the Brewers slugger with chants of "Ur-ine Sam-ple!" before Braun struck out swinging against Madison Bumgarner. His second time up, Braun was greeted with chants of "Cheater!" before looking at strike three.

I suggest Braun and the Brewers get used to it..

the polls I've seen show most MLB fans think Braun cheated and got off on a technicality..Even some of the players question the decision..
Buster Olney:
They are not mad at the fact that they are subject to drug testing. They aren't complaining about Big Brother. They aren't mad at Major League Baseball.
They are furious that a player who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs won by challenging the administration of his test rather than contesting the presence of synthetic testosterone in the urine.
-----
But if this recent straw poll of players is a proper reflection of the union as a whole, there has been a dramatic shift of thought among the brethren. I'm guessing 80 to 90 percent of the players I spoke with expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome of last week's case, in varying degrees. Some agents and executives say they've drawn the same responses in their conversations with players.
For a lot of the players most of whom have been subject to testing since they first played in professional baseball the peers who choose to take performance-enhancing drugs are viewed as a significant threat.

Oh, and btw, Bonds hasn't been a member of the Giants since 2007....isn't it about time you and the rest of the Giants haters found something else to ride?

Hell--- we have a couple here in this forum---one long tombstoned---that could never ever admit St. Barry was a juicer.

(9,709 posts)all part of being being a sports fan..Anyway, Brewers fans were some of the worst when it came to Bonds. I don't remember if they threw syringes on the field like in SD and LA, but they sure let him hear it. Well, now the shoe is on the other foot..payback time. Braun and the Brewers have it coming..

Dude you're so full of it.
Ahhh the days when you and your sidekick Cboy would defend BB and try and tell us ---hey, Barry is just lifting weights---Steroids---errrr no way.
It's a history that you try desperately to shove aside and pretend--never happened.
Oh lookie here---

(31,172 posts)A swarm of bees materialized in the outfield in the bottom of the second inning causing a delay of about 40 minutes during the Giants / D-Backs SS game yesterday. The swarm -- described as being in the thousands by play-by-play announcer Jon Miller -- forced the Giants to seek shelter in the locker room after descending on their dugout.
I was listening on radio in the car. The banter between announcers Miller, Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow was one for the ages.

Braun should, at the very least, expect to deal with this all season. The fact that it's coming from Giants fans, though, makes me laugh. Apparently, the problem some fans have with steroids isn't the cheating, it's just the uniform you wear when you do it.
