1. Do you care whether the Raptors beat a limping Warriors squad?

If Toronto goes on to become champs, so what if the bitter Golden State fans point out that their team was without a starter (or two) for every game of the series. The Warriors are also the same team that has gobbled up some of the best free agent talent by disregarding the salary cap.

2. Curry, Thompson and Green were draft picks ...

Cousins was a free agent, but he's been more of detriment than an asset IMO and is only seeing minutes because Kevon Looney is injured. Durant hasn't played in ages, it seems.

So I think some of the "best" draft picks refers to Durant only, no?

Three starters out in Game 3. Yes, I do care.

3. My point was regarding the astronomical spending

Regardless of whether you consider Boogie Cousins an asset or a liability, they paid for him, but craftily, after already paying big bucks for Durant.

There's a good article linked below from FiveThirtyEight on how Golden State has put up a ton of money to attract and retain the abundance of talent they have -- giving them an edge over the rest of the NBA. So if fate has intervened in the form of injuries, well, I'm having a hard time summoning any sympathy.

4. The first finals Golden State won Cleveland was without Kyrie Irving

For most of the series. When Draymond Green got himself suspended for their 2nd finals I heard him being out was used as an excuse why Cleveland won that series.

Last year Houston was up 3-2 over Golden State but Chris Paul got hurt.

It seems like this series either the Warriors win or they got a built in excuse if they lose.

On edit: Klay Thompson hurt himself trying to draw a foul so that one was his own fault.

Mike Royko wrote that back in 1992, though I suspect the term is much older.

As a Boston sports fan, I’ve found this to be true. If the Patriots played the Nazis in the next Super Bowl, you’d still hear a lot of people booing Brady when he took the field.

6. I only mostly root against Golden State because of Draymond Green

and also because they are in the same division as the Suns but it doesn't bother me as much as the Lakers or even worse the Jazz winning the titles. For a long time Warriors and Clippers were the bottom feeders of the Pacific Division.

7. People without a dog in the fight seem to root against

people they don't like (like Green, Lebron James, or even Jerry Jones), teams that win a lot (like the Patriots or the 1990's Bulls), or for big underdogs, teams with a long drought or small market teams.

Was it Wilt Chamberlain that said "Nobody Roots for Goliath"?
