I don't think the NFL understands how "evidence" works.

Here’s Tyreek Hill getting a pass...

And here’s the ravens CB Jimmy Smith getting 4 games for “evidence of threatening and emotionally abusive behaviors by Jimmy toward his former girlfriend”, which is exactly what the Tyreek Hill tapes show.

The NFL, of course, reserves the right to punish Hill later on if the public find out what they swept under the rug. They learned that lesson when they tried to punish Ray Rice again when the video of him punching his girlfriend got out.

And Hill has already plead guilty to assaulting his ex. Rather than say they didn’t have enough evidence, they should have said “we believe we can sweep this one under the rug, so we’re going to try to do that. If it doesn’t work, we’re going to pretend to be outraged and bend to public pressure.”
