Oakland A's closer Liam Hendriks says he doesn't follow the Golden State Warriors, who were the A's neighbors before their move to the Chase Center in San Francisco for the upcoming 2019-20 season.
"They treated us like s over here so we don't care for them much," Hendriks said to The Athletic's Ethan Strauss on Tuesday morning.
Hendriks has played for the A's since 2016, the year after the Warriors won the first of their three most recent NBA titles. He spoke about the difference between how the Warriors were treated by the A's when they "sucked" and how the Warriors treated the A's as they ascended to dynasty status.
"When the Warriors sucked and the A's were good, the A's would give them tickets," he said. "When the Warriors became good they decided to cut all ties and become aholes. So, no love lost for them leaving."

(33,643 posts)Being born in O-town I'm a fan of all our teams (two of them soon to be erstwhile teams) but the A's organization (esp. when Wolff owned them) have acted like dicks for like ... forever.

(33,643 posts)When I say that, I mean, I performed the ceremony ... wedding her to my little brother
She's my sister-in-law IOW ...
I'm an A's fan, too ... I love the players, I like Billie Bean, I like Melvin, etc
But I'm even more of a Raider fan and I'm here to tell ya ... the selfishness of the A's ownership (esp. Wolff) is a significant part of why the Raiders are gone to Vegas.

Sorry to say, but you've opened a can worms here. This is a bit of a news bomb.

(14,974 posts)not the damn stadium and locker room (plus the lot and station), so what are you really expecting? That's like the difference between a sibling and a neighbor. In other words, huge.
