Patriots release Antonio Brown

This has to be the end of the line, right? Sometimes an individual is so toxic that there's no turning them around...

Statement from the Patriots on Antonio Brown
STATEMENT FROM A PATRIOTS SPOKESPERSON

“The New England Patriots are releasing Antonio Brown. We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time.”

for that pesky nondisclosure stuff that was covered in the boilerplate fine print of the contract. He might be advised to seek new legal counsel because his lawyer will be named as a co defendant in the Patriots lawsuit

Additional context from ESPN:

In addition to the lawsuit, Brown faces another allegation of sexual misconduct by a female artist who was working at his Western Pennsylvania home in 2017. That allegation was part of a Sports Illustrated report published Monday that detailed domestic incidents involving Brown, a charity auction theft and multiple unpaid debts.

On Thursday, the lawyer for the artist reached out to the NFL after Brown apparently sent what were described as threatening text messages to her client.

According to a statement from the woman's attorneys Friday, the Patriots then directed Brown to have no further contact with the woman.

The way I see it, the Patriots welcome you to the team with a clean slate (remember, the Pats didn't know about all Brown's issues until after they signed him), but hold you accountable for your actions from that point on. When Brown escalated things with the second accuser, he was done. It makes a certain kind of sense, I guess.
