Tennessee Titans: Derrick Henry's high school stats are insane

The Yulee, Florida native went to Yulee High School and in four seasons totaled an astounding 12,124 yards (8.7 yards per carry) and 153 touchdowns on the ground.

According to Roman Stubbs of the Washington Post, Henry was “benching 365 pounds, clean-jerking 315 pounds, squatting 500 pounds and deadlifting 550 pounds to go with 4.5-second speed in the 40-yard dash” by his senior year.

He weighed in at an astounding 240 pounds in his senior year, which means high school kids had to try and tackle Henry at roughly the same size he is currently. Grown men can’t even do that.

Here’s a rundown of his first three years of high school ball, courtesy of MaxPreps.com.

Freshman: 313 carries, 2,465 yards and 26 touchdowns

Sophomore: 313 carries, 2,788 yards and 38 touchdowns

Junior: 309 carries, 2,610 yards and 34 touchdowns

While those are all certainly impressive, the real eye-opening season came in his Senior year when he totaled a remarkable 4,261 rushing yards and 55 touchdowns on 462 carries.

Henry is a tremendous player with the stats to prove it. The sports analysts keep saying the Titans can't beat the other teams, and each week they are proven wrong. He is my favorite player on the team.

His athletic ability is just one reason to like him. When he just won the NFL rushing record, he thanked teammates, coaches, etc. Then he said he wanted to thank the people that cleaned the Titans compound. Henry's Grandmother worked many years at a Holiday Inn cleaning rooms to raise her family. He never forgot the hard work she did for him and others. Good humble man.
