After a strong senior season at Alabama State, Jackson was a second-round pick of the Vikings in 2006 he was eyed by then-Vikings coach Brad Childress throughout the pre-draft process. After five seasons of injuries and mostly down success with the Vikings, Jackson was traded to the Bills for a conditional seventh-round pick.
He would have two stints with the Seahawks, eventually finishing his career in Seattle as a backup to Russell Wilson. He retired in 2016 and eventually took up coaching at Tennessee State as the team's quarterbacks coach.

I remember he took over as Seahawks starting QB after Matt Hasselback left. I had forgotten he stuck around as backup when Russell Wilson took over.
