Peyton Manning has Broncos among top two choices on list
DU must be in DEFCON4 tonight!
According to multiple NFL sources, Manning has the Broncos among his top two choices. He likes that coach John Fox will give him carte blanche of the offense and he believes Colorado would give him a quality of life for his wife Ashley and twins, who will turn 1 on March 31.
The four teams still alive in the Manning derby are Denver, Tennessee, Miami and Arizona. The Houston Texans backed off after they told Manning representatives they had virtually no salary cap space and needed to arrange money to have any hope of re-signing free agent Mario Williams. San Francisco is no longer in on Manning, according to an NFL source.
Tennessee was expected to have a sitdown with Manning today, but as of late afternoon, that had not happened. There are reports out of Tennessee that Manning may meet with Titans' coach Mike Munchak on Wednesday.
One concern Manning may have about the Broncos is the possibility of playing in cold-weather games. For a quarterback coming off four neck surgeries and less than two weeks away from his 36th birthday, it's an understandable concern.
