Conner Capel, Kacy Clemens - son of Roger - awarded $3.24M in lawsuit against bar (GRAPHIC WARNING)
HOUSTON -- Kacy Clemens and Conner Capel, the sons of former big league pitchers Roger Clemens and Mike Capel, won $3.24 million in their lawsuit over an alleged assault at Washington Avenue bar Concrete Cowboy in 2019.
The minor league baseball players sued the bar's parent company - 34th S&S LLC - for $5 million in damages. The jury cleared Clemens and Capel of wrongdoing and found the Concrete Cowboy liable for the players' injuries.
Kacy Clemens and Conner Capel were at the Concrete Cowboys in the early morning hours of Jan. 1, 2019 on a night where their attorney say the bar was filled over capacity. The duo's attorney claim Capel was asked to move away from a waitress station at the bar, then was aggressively tossed out of the bar along with Clemens, who was coming to his friend's defense. The attorney claims along the way, Capel, who is the godson of seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens, was struck in the forehead with a flashlight, accounting for a skull fracture above his left eye.
