Ex-Seahawk Richard Sherman: Guilty pleas to misdemeanor charges in 2021 domestic incident
AKing County Superior Court judge on Monday agreed to impose a suspended sentence on former Seattle Seahawks player Richard Sherman in connection with an incident last summer in which he was accused of being under the influence when he tried to bust into his in-law's Redmond home after speeding through a construction zone.
Judge Kevin Peck agreed to the terms of a plea deal reached by Sherman's lawyer and the King County Prosecutors' Office in which Sherman, 33, pled guilty for first-degree negligent driving and second-degree criminal trespass and admitted to a criminal infraction of speeding in a roadway construction zone.
The deal calls for Sherman to pay around $1,300 in court fees and be under court supervision for up to two years. The football player also agreed to stay out of trouble and perform several hours of community service. The judge suspended the jail requirements imposed by the laws and gave Sherman credit for the time he spent when he was first arrested, meaning he won't be required to serve any additional time behind bars.
Sherman was also ordered to not drive under the influence and submit to a breathalyzer if ordered to do so.
