If he'd just stood there on the first pitch in this video, he probably would have been hit on the leg and then the tying run would have come in. But his instincts took over and he moved out of the way. Then he swung on an awful pitch to strike out.

Am thinking also about the Detroit pitcher whose bad throw to the catcher gave the Mariners the series. Crazy stuff.
