Nightengale: Salt Lake City 'in the driver's seat' for MLB expansion
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The dream of Major League Baseball coming to Utah may still be years away, but one of the sport’s most connected insiders believes Salt Lake City has emerged as the leading candidate for expansion.
USA Today MLB columnist Bob Nightengale spoke with ABC4 Sports this week to discuss the future of MLB expansion and where Salt Lake City currently stands in the process.
According to Nightengale, no city is better positioned for expansion than Salt Lake City.
“Salt Lake City’s in the driver’s seat,” Nightengale said. “I think something would really have to go awry for them not to get one of these expansion teams.”
