Caught a shot of one hummingbird this morning still here in Delaware

Previously October 1 had been the latest I’ve ever seen one.

Yesterday

It's been about 10 days since I saw my last hummingbird. The locals left around Labor Day, but stragglers from the north kept on coming for a couple more weeks.
I'll leave the feeder up a while longer just in case. Besides, taking it down for the year is just one more acknowledgement that cold times are on their way.

N. Virginia, in a suburb of Washington, DC

Used to see about 15-20 a day all summer long at my feeder. Then - nothing. Until this past Sunday. But only ONE.

Think they have moved on…

…or the Gulf of America as our demented president calls it, or the Gulf of Second Place Soccer Teams as some Canadians call it, or the Gulf of Surfered as I sometimes like to call it.
