Snow geese take to the air at Garry Point Park, in Richmond, British Columbia, Jan. 10, 2021

Snow geese take to the air at Garry Point Park, in Richmond, British Columbia, on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021. The geese, which breed in Siberia, migrate along the pacific coast to spend winter feeding in river estuaries in southern B.C., Washington, and northern California. The B.C. Ministry of Environment estimates 100,000 of the birds reside in the Fraser River Delta every winter. (Darryl Dyck/The Canadian Press via AP)

Not unusual here in north central Idaho, most days you can't be outside ten minutes without seeing Canada geese, so I went back to sleep. I woke up about and hour and a half later and still heard geese. I missed most of it, but it was a huge flock that took two hours to go by. I've never seen that here in the 50 years I've lived here. I would have been outside watching the whole time, but the tail end was impressive.
