(14,906 posts)I enjoy animals, and so many beautifully colored , or cool patterned birds.
NYC had a very nice Snowy Owl visit in Central Park in early March.
My best bird story....
Some years back a little Calliope Hummer must have gotten blown eastward, and landed in way Northern Manhattan's Ft Tryon Park. (my old park)
You might know that east of The Mississippi River there are only Ruby throated hummingbirds...
So this was quite a stir! Every birder who could probably went to see it.
I went up to see it because I'd hardly even seen even our local ones.
Some nice birder lent me their binocs. It was so cute.
