1 part Cane sugar to 4 parts water. That's it. No food color. I understand beet sugar is not as good. They would like it stronger but their little kidneys can't take it.

cardinal flower, columbine, royal catchfly, blue lobelia, red milkweed, milkweeds,
asters, native iris, bergamot, penstemon, hyssop, and native lupines

Trumpet Vine is good but it can be a pain in the ass.

Non native annuals (they can be grown in hanging baskets too .... close to the house)

Lantana, Nasturium, some of the begonias too.
