Broncos QB Bo Nix suffers broken ankle in win over Bills, will miss rest of season

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix suffered a broken ankle in Saturday's 33-30 Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills and will miss the rest of the postseason, head coach Sean Payton told reporters.

Payton said Nix suffered the injury on the "second-to-last" play of overtime, a QB sweep to the left that resulted in a 2-yard loss.

Nix will undergo surgery Tuesday in Birmingham, Alabama, to repair the injury, per Payton.

The Broncos head coach also said backup QB Jarrett Stidham will fill in for Nix in the AFC Championship Game next Sunday.

I’m still trying to learn how to pronounce the back up’s name.

We’re going to see what this team is made of. I’m optimistic cause I’m a fan. Go Broncos!

In fact I remember seeing him briefly interviewed after the game. I guess when you're elated you don't feel pain.

The good news: You won the biggest game of your life!
The bad news: You're out for the rest of the season!
