what to do when I switch away from the countless annoying commercials and egregious halftime entertainment. In between I'm expecting a good football game. 2 really good teams going at it for all the marbles.

I press mute or turn the volume down.

Won't turn it on until game time.

Can't take all that pre-game blabber.

I'm looking forward to:

Patriots. What surprises are in store offensively? Gronkowski - he's big, strong & fast. How much can he get receiving & running after catching. Blount - can he get it going or will he get stuffed?

Seattle. Will Russell Wilson play better than he did the first part of the NFC championship game? Will Lynch play in beast mode? How will the Patriots' defense play them? Will they put one guy on Lynch and one guy on Wilson at all times?

Special teams. The game could be won by a kicker, punters, kickoff receivers.

Turnovers. Huge. Who will fumble or throw an interception? Will there be a pick 6?

Injuries: Kam Chancellor's knee, the Patriots' center, Tom Brady's cold. All assorted injuries before & during the game.

and when I returned, the halftime show was still on. I forgot the Superbowl shit has an extended halftime show. Was that Tinkerbell flying across the coliseum?

So there we were, a house full of guests, all sitting around looking dejected. It's 2nd and inches and we've all braced ourselves for Lynch's inevitable walk into the end zone, securing another SB ring for the Hawks. Cue Richard Sherman and his predictable and annoying blustering, while shit-talking everyone else. And then.......AND THEN! The unthinkable -- a pass. They PASSED the ball instead of giving it to Lynch! As Butler intercepted, everyone leaped off the couch in unison! I'm pretty sure most of the block heard our screams. Little children and pets ran in terror, some household items may have been knocked over. But the best part was seeing Sherman cry. Truly, the most beautiful image of any SB I can remember

Congratulations to the Patriots.

In the 2000 Super Bowl the Tennessee Titans had an opportunity to win the game on the last play and fell one yard short. The Rams won the game. Here's a two-minute recap:
