Anyone playing Destiny?

I started playing in October. I'm on the PS4 and level 40, Hunter. I mostly stick to PVE because I don't have a headset, and most teams want you to use a mic, but I'm reaching the point where things are hard solo.

I haven't played games on a PC since Diablo III. I started buying consoles for my boys when they got into video games and I've been sucked in

Like you I did not use a mic so I played solo only. I maxed out all three character lines as far as playing solo would allow, preferred the 'ground-pounder' but thought all three Guardian types were pretty cool. My intention was to play Destiny until Halo 5 came out because I am such a Halo fanatic but Destiny held me to it's addictive clutches until Fallout 4. Now that F-4 is out Halo 5 sits unopened and I have not looked back to Destiny at all.

I hadn't been playing Destiny very long when that came out, so I was at the peak of Destiny addiction. I was starting to fade away from it a bit until this last Iron Banner started, my first. Now I'm pulled right back in.

7. Regarding Iron Banner...

I've never participated in one, nor Crucibles either. I kinda thought about doing some of the Cricibles that were one on one but just couldnt bring myself to it. I figured everyone would think me a noob so i stayed away from anything team oriented. So is Iron Banner some sort of uber-Crucible?

I never did crucible before this for the same reasons, but I wanted the gear rewards. I'm glad I did, because I loved it and now I hooked on the Crucible. The sparrow races they recently had were great, too.

I wanted to see if they had 'dolled' the game up like they did for Holloween. I stopped into see Xur and discovered he had nothing exciting...which was expected. I did see the alert on the Sparrow Races but truth be told I have problems enough just driving the sucker on full blast so i figured competitive racing to be out of my reach. I may eventually pick up the game again soon though because i am getting all 'modded' out over at F4. I am also growing weary of dealing with keeping all my settlers happy, lost one yesterday due to my own neglect. (btw this chat is all on my cellphone while eating dinner at local diner, l8tr)

username is the same as my DU name. I'm on ps4 and have all 3 characters at level 40. I like the daily, nightfall, and occasionally venture into the crucible. Would be glad to help you with the game, not having a mic is ok.
