Related: About this forumAbusive priest gets disability, support from Twin Cities archdiocese
http://www.startribune.com/local/east/246716691.htmlAfter the Rev. Gil Gustafson was convicted of child sex abuse 30 years ago, the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis made sure he was financially secure for decades to come.
The church continued his priestly salary and health insurance, covered his living expenses and psychological treatment and paid for his education and training, according to church records and a former archdiocese accountant. It has given him jobs in the chancery, helped him establish his own consulting business and steered clients his way.
In July 2006, Gustafson was declared disabled based on his pedophilia, the church said. This allowed him to collect disability checks on top of his earnings as a leadership consultant.

My boy is dead, Herrity said. Gustafson is getting paid.

I know. Clearly there are much bigger threats to liberalism and humanity itself.

Disgusting, but not surprising: The Archbishop of this diocese is beyond "troglodyte." n/t

(33,619 posts)1. Why keep bring this crap up.
It happened years ago, like two or three.
It's not like basing your whole religion on half remembered myths from several thousand years ago.
New Pope, time to move on.

Not sure what else they'd be doing if they weren't trying to put a happy face on all of this. It's a full time job, dontcha know?

Such as those who get pissed off by this crap, for instance. Thank Koresh there are those who bravely lash out at already-marginalized atheists who dare to speak up!

against our LGBT brothers and sisters, here in Minnesota when bigots like himself felt threatened by gay marriage. Thankfully he and his church LOST.
