Women call for Pope Francis to end priests' celibacy vow

A group of 26 Italian women who claim to be having affairs with Roman Catholic priests have written a joint letter to the Pope begging him to end the church's ban on priests having sex and getting married.

The women, who met through a Facebook campaign, wrote to Pope Francis requesting a meeting, claiming they were just "a small sample" of the many partners of priests "living in silence".

The unnamed women wrote: "We love these men, they love us, and in most cases, despite all efforts to renounce it, one cannot manage to give up such a solid and beautiful bond.

"We humbly place our suffering at your feet in the hope that something may change, not just for us, but for the good of the entire church."

1. Good luck with that, Francis despises love, hates commitment and stands against equality

for women, for LGBT people and anyone else his twisted mind decides is inferior to himself, an bumbling old bigot whose never had any form of adult relationship, a stunted person who is bitterly dedicated to attempting to make the world as unhappy as he is.
In Uganda Francis and his folks are helping lead pogroms to eliminate all gay people. Those who stand with him stand with unhinged bigots.

you don't think any of his current policies are relevant when discussing whether he will reconsider one of the Church's celibacy stance?

Uganda is a legitimate issue, no coloration with Benghazi.

Especially pertinent when discussing the Church's views of sexual relationships.

But if you feel that Uganda is no different than Benghazi, I have nothing to discuss.

But if you don't see that, you indeed have nothing to discuss.

that you either think Hillary and Obama are culpable in Benghazi. or that the Church has no responsibility for Uganda.

Either way i can't agree with your view.

16. Would ending celibacy really lead to major changes in the church's outlook?

Southern Baptist ministers can and do marry, and it's still a patriarchal organization. I can see this alleviating the RCC's priest shortage, but beyond that...?
