Jesus Wants Me to Have This Jet

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/03/14/jesus-wants-me-to-have-this-jet.html

Pastor Creflo Dollar has spoken to God, and God wants him to buy a $65 million private jet. His congregation, thus far, has obliged his every whim.

God wants Pastor Creflo Dollar to have a $65 million private jet, according to paid spokesman for God, Pastor Creflo Dollar.

On Friday, Dollar’s website unveiled Project G650, an “airplane project” that he claims has something to do with “Understanding Grace” and “Empowering Change.”

You may be wondering, What could this mysterious, holy airplane project be? Probably something related to charity, you must think, like air-dropping food into famine-ravaged countries, or flying sick children to doctors, or lifting two of every animal out of a flood.

Not quite.

1. What's incredible to me is that people believe this crap.

If you are stupid enough to send money to a televangelist for a new jet, what can I possibly say that will reach you?

7. Surely a cargo plane would be much more needed to deliver the goods purchased for needy people?

That IS where all those dollars are going right? To deliver food and necessities to disadvantaged people worldwide?

No? Color me surprised...

9. When you have people buying into the delusion

(a delusion that is defended frequently on this board, by people like the OP) that "god" is telling you to do something, you can get people to go along with things that would be considered crazy, bigoted or downright horrible in any other circumstances. That's the poison of religion and "faith", no matter how benign or even beneficial some people try to paint it as.

Look at you, holding out hope that he might do something charitable. That if he did things like that, it could pay for the wealth he's scammed and siphoned away from his church members.

Look at this vile shit:

THAT is what this man is about.

16. Not holding out hope at all. That was meant sarcastically.

13. This is the disgusting consequences of that bullshit people were fawning over in the Karma thread.

This man is of the 'prosperity gospel', and which is really just the old karma trick to keep the poor, poor and rich, rich, and nobody should complain about it. That his wealth is a reward for his righteousness and that he has a duty to flaunt it to show people what the rewards of such 'righteousness' are. That if only everyone else, particularly all those poor sinners, would only be righteous like him, they will eventually be rewarded too.

It's a social control scam, and the karma trick is the template.

Everyone that pretends that karma is a real thing? You feed and power his scam by lending his claims cover. Congrats. Hope you're all happy about it.

Funny, some people who seemed to be all warm and friendly toward karma seem to be down on Mr. Dollar here. Odd. Thought you believed in some element of it? No? If there was a force like that in the universe, Mr. Dollar would have perished long ago, and 'prosperity gospel' wouldn't exist.

But instead, because people lend it credence, we've got a new caste system forming right here in America. Thanks for that.
