Sherif Gaber, Egyptian citizen sentenced to one year prison for "Contempt of Religion" is on the run

Even cooler than the fact that after he disappeared himself, he started a youtube channel:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_CKL5F9i7e9sPnZcxXP3HQ/videos

Best to turn the subtitles on if you want to understand most of it.

Got my info via:

http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2015/07/15/egyptian-atheist-sentenced-to-prison-but-hiding-from-police-is-now-releasing-pro-science-youtube-videos/

Got to say, more power to him, hope he finds a place where he will be safe from persecution in his own country and that he never shuts up about the injustice he and others suffer from these religious fanatics in his home country.

where the Muslim Brotherhood is still very mu.ch organized and active, even after a lot of the worst of them have been jailed or executed.

He can be a burr under their saddles much more effectively outside the country, IMO.

Best to continue that sort of campaign from afar.

from the videos on his channel, you can't tell much, with the lights in the background, all you can tell is that he's sitting at a table/desk, and nothing in the background, that is probably the safest for him at the moment.

I don't know if any EU country would honor extraditing him to Egypt, I doubt it, and hope he can make it to one of those nations, where he can be safe and, as you said, campaign from afar.

I hope he is able to stay out of their reach and still speak loudly about what is happening to him and other atheists in Egypt.
