The difference with the Café is what youre using as your authorities, Mr. Ellis said later. Typically, in a Christian class, the Bible is your authenticity. To this group, the Bible is just another book. You can use it, but its just one piece of the puzzle. You rely on those your listeners would find credible scientists, philosophers, authors and you show how Christianity makes sense.
Without magic...i.e. resurrection...the christ myth is just that...one more incredible story on the pile.
Without credibility it makes no sense, in the real natural world we live in, and thus has no merit.
But they sound like they are open to your line of reasoning. And there fore must respond within that framework. I doubt they will have many converts.
And I am not advocating for this, i just found it interesting, as i said.

This was long used on college campuses. And rational -seeming "apologetics."
The RCC has long held that it's religion can be defended rationally.
Problem is, reason is always being misused and subtly bent. To serve the religious bias.
