Catholic Church that doubles as polling place hands out flier linking Hillary to Satan

A church in San Diego that double as a polling place distributed newsletters last month that contained fliers attacking Democratic voters.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, which is located in the Old Town neighborhood of San Diego and that will be a polling place on election day, distributed a weekly newsletter in mid-October that had a flier inserted in it that told parishioners they’d go to hell if they voted for Democrats.

“It is a mortal sin to vote Democrat,” read the flier. “Immediately after death the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell.”

Two weeks later, another flier was stuffed into a church bulletin that claimed Hillary Clinton was using the tactics of organizer Saul Alinsky to do Satan’s bidding.

The church claims that it did not insert the fliers into its weekly bulletins and said that they were not authorized.

“For all I know someone thought that they were doing a service,” diocese spokesman Kevin Eckery said of the flier. “The pastor said it was not something he had reviewed or approved.”

that's important.

They should have said that person was ill advised as the church doesn't get involved in politics. Maybe more of a strong statement against the person who inserted the fliers.

The flyer might not have been from the pastor but it echoes what he has said in mass.

So there's that.

I left after someone put a flier under my windshield wiper stating I should vote for George W. Bush as he is "pro-life". You cannont execute folks and call yourself 'pro-life' so that was that for me.

and bulletin do not reflect Catholic teaching or diocese policies, are inappropriate, and that voters should use their conscience to determine which candidates to support. “It’s not a mortal sin to vote for Democrats, number one. And number two, the church doesn’t take positions on this, and we’re not going to,” diocese spokesman Kevin Eckery said ... The diocese said the flier was not authorized by the parish, but it was somehow inserted into the Oct. 16 bulletin ...

Immaculate Conception’s pastor, Father Richard Perozich, admitted to the New York Daily News that he told churchgoers they will go to hell if they vote Democrat. However, he also said the flyer was written by an outside group, wasn’t reviewed by him and “went a little beyond” the approved message.

Classy in this case would be posting the next paragraph which contradicts the prior paragraph.

The fact that somebody took this and then made it public took it out of context,” Perozich was quoted as saying. “I would never tell anyone to ‘vote this’ or ‘vote that.”
No matter, as long as you can dredge up something, true or false, to continue your ill-conceived crusade against Catholics and the Catholic Church.
