The Bible does say Do not lieOne definition of "fake" is something made to look real or valuable to deceive people. Fake purse, fake jewelry, fake body parts are all designed to make people believe they are the real thing.
These kinds of deceptions dont have the same impact on a persons life as fake news. "Fake news" is a new term that has yet to be clearly defined.
Some fake news can be entertaining and not harmful.
We rely on journalists with integrity to present stories with real facts. We can accept good news and bad news.

(25,879 posts)The Ten Commandments are to be observed, also think it's perfectly all right to deceive a non believer, meaning anyone who does not adhere to exactly the same belief set.
I'm also surprised at how many seem to have a version of the Bible that lists a number of exceptions to the one that says "Do not kill", or words to that effect.

(9,116 posts)Lots of things people do every day are sins.
Taking the Lord's name in vain. Jerking off in the shower. Fucking without procreating. Wearing polyester blends. Touching the skin of a dead pig. Living in the same space as a menstruating woman. Grabbing your husband by the dick. Charging interest on loans. Having a hipster beard. Having lustful thoughts. Having vengeful thoughts. Getting a divorce, for any reason whatsoever. Getting remarried after getting a divorce. Fucking anyone after getting a divorce. And so on.
Clearly the word "sin" doesn't carry much weight, even with believers. And given the long list of ridiculous shit considered "sin" by God's own moral authorities here on Earth, I'm actually rather glad for that.
