Callista Gingrich Reminds Me of My First Mother-in-Law

She does. She's now Ambassador to the Holy See. My Mother-in-Law did not rise to such a high level, but she was something of a prominent person in her Catholic Parish. She liked priests, too. A lot.

Now, she didn't have physical affairs with those priests or anything like that, but she sure was attentive to their needs. She invited them over for dinner on a regular basis, and prepared complex, savory meals that she never made for her family. She doted on the priests who came and went in her parish.

She bought them costly vestments and the like, too. She wrote letters praising her favorites to the Bishop. She always had a favorite priest, usually a young, handsome one who was there for a couple of years and then was replaced by another handsome young priest.

My ex mother-in-law was a priest groupie. There's a least one in every parish. It's a romantic sort of infatuation, but without any need for physical contact. Oh, no! She never thought of such a thing, I'm sure. But she had warm, warm feelings for her favorite priests.

Sometimes, it was downright embarrassing, but most of her favorites accepted her generosity and devotion without complaint.

Callista Gingrich strikes me as such a person. I'm sure she will have fine entertainments and dining opportunities there in Rome. There are so many nice priests there who need her attention. Yes, indeed. All completely platonic, of course and charitable.

Look at the photo of her with the Pope in this thread. She's all atremble and vaporous. That's plenty...

Just when I’d gotten the “deer in the headlights” eyes and that helmet of a hairdo out of my mind....you have to mention her name and bring it all back.

Thanks for the nightmares...and just in time for Christmas!

She couldn't be more exited. She's probably trembling a little, even. Beads of moisture dot her upper lip.

She doesn't know where Newt is right then. What could it possibly matter?

She's right there, next to the top priest of all. What else could be important right then?

By the way, it isn't the picture that gives her that nose. It's all hers.

1. Will Callista hinder or stop husband, Newt, from telling the Pope how to do his job?

and

2. If she had to choose one, would Callista side with the Pope or with Donald Trump?

Callista will. Newt is the spouse of the Ambassador, and she's not going to let him forget that.

As for your second question, she will side with the Pope. Every time. But, the Pope will not require that of her. Nope. The Pope knows who she is, and has met others like her, I'm sure. He knows just how to handle priest groupies.

for harness racing and as soon as his morning Mass was over, there he was at the rail timing them. He didn't stay a priest, married and I hope won a few races. Great man.
