Good news: On Pakistani campuses, evangelicals find room to reflect

The murder had lead to an outpouring of solidarity and grief

A Pakistani court has sentenced one man to death and handed life terms to five others for murdering a student who was falsely accused of blasphemy.

Mashal Khan was dragged out of his university accommodation in north-west Pakistan in April 2017 by a crowd of hundreds of his fellow students.

He was badly beaten before being shot and his body mutilated.

The OP is supposed to highlight how willing believers are to tolerate non-believers, after your article celebrated how believers getting preferential treatment from non-believers is a step into the right direction.

The positive side of religion is when one SHUTS THE FUCK UP about it and keeps it to one's self.

Preferential treatment for people who proselytize about something that MAY exist? Man, that's whack.

Instead, we should give preferential treatment to scientists. After all, NATURE EXISTS.

By religious people. By believers in the God of Abraham. Blasphemy was why. The irony is palpable. The satire is obvious. You missed it.

The people that murdered the alleged blasphemer were believers. They did this because they believed that the man did not believe.

Scientists don't do this kind of bullshit. They hypothesize and test and objectively analyze evidence, or the lack thereof. Belief doesn't enter into the process.

And for the record, there is no evidence of any "supreme beings". This should be the page banner to the Religion group.

Have scientists ever murdered someone because they disagreed with them, or felt that their work was being ridiculed? Surely history has one example. Otherwise it's a clean sheet for religion.

of what he asked.

Scientist created a bomb because they knew Germany was working on one and didn't want to see a Nazi ruled world.

When have scientists personally murdered someone because they disagreed with their science.

Something that happens all too regularly with religion.

Talk about weak!

Religions are abstract ideas. It is how people act on those ideas that is deadly.

Scientist don't murder because of their scientific discipline.

It's apples an oranges. A sorry, weak argument.
