Oh, and bonus points if you can identify the man in this picture.

(15,383 posts)There was a guy who came and yelled at us every Friday. Cheap entertainment for students.
Amongst the things I did to him...
Read a Time Magazine with a Playboy cover on it in front of him (conniption)
When he was talking about looking at women with lust in your heart turning her into a harlot, I turned to an attractive blonde and apologize profusely then trailed off while I looked at her breasts (another conniption)
When he was talking about the evils of dancing, a Latina friend of mine was approaching the crowd, and I distracted her and asked her to re-show me a salsa move she had been teaching me. She did, and he started yelling at both of us. She caught on to what was going on and thought it was funny.
Best thing I ever did was when I was walking home from class with another friend, and I saw him about 25 yards away. I told my friend to take my backpack, which I dropped on the ground. I yelled as loud as I could, "EVANGELIST!!!" He turned to look at me, and I started running at him as fast as possible while yelling, "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" He jumped into the crowd when I got about 10 feet away.

(209 posts)Unless he's standing there pushing Mittens and the GOP, it's better to be tolerant of him. I also am a Christian and take seriously the command to preach the Gospel. From a political stand point, many of these people who are most serious about their religion are suspicious of Romney and understand what Mormonism is. Show tolerance and compassion, and you'll make the movement stronger and make them realize that the GOP has been lying to them. But, that doesn't mean you can't debate them (or me, if ever you caught ME preaching!)
I should know. I was to the right of Attila the Hun until I witnessed so many people flip on Romney, from once acknowledging his near constant lies, to suddenly helping setup his cult of personality, and slowly but surely I realized I was being lied to on even the most simplest of issues all along. I suddenly realized that the Republican party was not the Christian party. It was the party of neo-fascists, who work with the corporations gaining greater and greater wealth as the rest of us get robbed more and more, turning us from a once great industrial society, to a service society where we can, if we are lucky, get to answer phone calls for Mittens or process orders at your local fast food joint. These people work for the interests of the big banks, and they spread the most atrocious lies to do it.
Here is Pen Jillette on evangelism. It's a must see:

Anti-abortion, anti-evolution, anti-sex, anti-woman, anti-gay, you name it!
Again, can anyone here name the man in the photo? In certain circles, he's rather infamous!
