Going up or down?
In my denomination (Episcopalian) overall we are not a growing church, but here in NYC we have some good numbers. My parish is growing and is in the black.
I wonder if anyone has noticed any trends of late. They say attendance is going down but I don't see it in my parish.

(6,182 posts)We are a small Reform Jewish congregation that kind of keeps the services extremely brief because we prefer to shmooz and have discussions/classes. So we are very different than the bigger congregations in the area that offer full service. Consequently, our number of official members has been consistently small through the years.
However, our number of attendants increase dramatically when we have our High Holiday services where we get a 3:1 ratio of non-congregants vs congregants attending the services.
In other words, the attendance of the non-affiliated (the Jewish version of the "nones" is pretty high on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
