What would be the best way to attract Catholics to a new splinter sect?

Here's one way to divide the universe of possibilities in two:

1. Propose, to people high in the hierarchy of the Catholic Church, changes of doctrine and changes of policy, trying to work within the church, but accepting that the proposed changes will likely be considered heretical; or

2. Market the new church directly to laypeople who consider themselves to be Catholics

You can choose one of the above, or you can propose some other way to divide the universe of possibilities into two parts.

1. Nail stuff to church doors. It's a proven strategy. But seriously,

why try to attract Catholics to a splinter sect? What would that accomplish?

Are you cynically resigned to the notion that the positive influence couldn't possibly outweigh the negative?

2. Give congregations back the beautiful churches they worked and paid for.

Let priests and nuns marry. Allow convents and monastaries to accept folks for a term of service instead of a life comittment.

5. If it's a serious question, here's a serious answer:

Put the control at the parish level. Require all candidates for ordination to be sponsored by a parish. Bishops to be elected by parishioners of the diocese.

Women priests, married priests.

Same sex marriage

Acknowledge that people make mistakes and/or change - make a provision to dissolve a marriage without claiming there was never a marriage.

Offer Mass using either the 1970 translation or the original ICEL translation.

6. Easy. You just have to tell them they're going to Hell. Worked w/my whole family.

Anytime the Priests or Nuns wanted something--somebody was going to Hell. Especially after the Sunday sermon before they pass the basket for "donations".
