New ‘Preachers of L.A.’ Reality Show to Feature Lavish Lives of Megachurch Prosperity Preachers

A new reality show set to air this fall on the Oxygen Network will put on display the lives of six Los Angeles area megachurch ministers, many of whom live large as prosperity preachers.

Preachers of L.A. was recently announced by the network, which also released a trailer that provides a sneak peak into the broadcast.

“Known for their fiery sermons, community outreach and passionate followings, pastors have become iconic, beloved, and sometimes polarizing figures in modern culture,” Oxygen stated. “Yet, few people have access to these larger-than-life men away from the pulpit. Until now.”

The network advised that the reality show will provide a look at the “human side” of the men, one of whom admits to having a baby with his girlfriend following his divorce from his wife.

in this or any other reality show.

IMHO, the people that agree to go on them are disturbed to begin with.

to the fact that the only one prospering from prosperity theology is the preacher.

A preacher's second Lexus woke up some of my extended family to the fact that maybe he was a grifter. They went from true believers in magic to cranky skeptics in record time.

If their very own preacher can get on the TV, maybe they can to.

Praise the Lord!

and think he's still a humble country preacher at heart, just good enough at it to need a really, really big building to hold all the people he's led to gawd. It will be a clue phone call when they see his mansions and vacation getaways, his plane (or jet), his lavishly equipped TV studio, and his stable of cars. They were all under the impression their tithes went to keeping the church in good repair with the balance going to starving orphans in the third world.

Most of the people who have fallen for the prosperity theology scam aren't stupid people and they'll have their eyes opened at last.

just like them. They don't seem to make any bones about having made it.

It seems more like EST than church... probably because it is.

Unfortunately, I disagree. I think a lot of the people that fall for prosperity theology are stupid people. Stupid, greedy people who are worshipping at the altar of success.

What's sad is that these walking egos will make themselves look like the utter imbeciles they are, but their brain-dead flocks will just keep coming every Sunday and tithing to support their lavish lifestyles. Just remember, it's only sin if YOU do it. It's fine for the pastor.

I left two large churches because they would not give me a job when I was broke. I wanted to help them spread their message. If they are people of god and they won't help me, then god wants me to starve. God can only help people on earth through other people, not through magic.

No more.
